Finished Projects!!

Well, it took me forever, but I finally got some pictures of some of my finished projects from this past fall.

Here, my sister is modeling my shawl made from "Lace Style" by Pam Allen and Ann Bud. It is the Lily of the Valley pattern made from Jagger Spun "Zephyr" in mulberry, I think. Wonderful yarn to work with - I've bought three more colors to make more shawls.

Here is the close up, I made the shawl longer than the pattern called for (13 and a half repeats, I think), but now I wish I had made it wider instead of longer. My sister took my advice and is making hers an extra repeat wider. I don't have the book yet, but I am dying to get it. I got the pattern from the class I took.
And the best project ever - Home Made Socks!! The most comfortable socks I have ever worn. It was well worth the effort it took me to make them. I was so nervous trying to make my first pair turn out right that it took over a year to knit them. The next pair shouldn't take me long at all now that I'm comfortable doing the heel turn and gusset and so forth. The pattern is from "Interweave Knits" Fall 2005 issue page 134, Rib and Cable Socks by Nancy Bush.

I love your socks and the shawl is gorgeous! I am a new knitter and really want to learn to do something besides the basic knit stitch and I want to do cables and socks sometime. Do you recommend any books, tutorials, websites, videos on how to learn to do cables and such to be able to do socks.

In Christ,
Rebecca
